As Google already mentioned speed is one of its important ranking factors, it’s becoming more important than ever to focus on your site loading speed and overall performance.

A good web hosting plays a huge role in order to load your website faster and keeping it secure, choosing a quality host is also an important part of technical SEO.

A good hosting takes care of technical parts of your website and helps you to focus on other aspect of blogging that requires your focus & attention.

That’s why I always advise webmasters to take their time to choose a quality hosting mainly specialized according to their purpose like managed WordPress hosting.

Not all of us can afford high-end hostings like kinsta or Wp engine .

When it comes to WordPress hosting there’s simply hell lot of choices to choose from. Not only its problematic for beginner bloggers but also for experienced ones when wants to change their hosting for a more robust performance.

Please note that there are plenty of web hosts who spend tons of money on affiliate marketing in order to gain more sales hence many bloggers blindly promoting many mediocre hostings.

“Hey, You get what you pay for, right?”

but that statement does not always need to be true.

In this, today’s post I’ll take you to 5 affordable web hosting providers who are super affordable in terms of price yet provides quality performance.

We’ve conducted the list based on pricing (pretty obvious), Uptime, speed, security, Customer support and few other minor factors like SSL, domain & other perks.

These are the only few important factors you should look after before buying not just these but before purchasing any hosting for your website.

Without much going further let’s just jump right into it.

1. Dreamhost

Starting our list with Dreamhost, Dreamhost is an award-winning web host who is in the web hosting business since 1997 and one of the reputable ones. It is also recommended hosting by many pros and also suggested by official WordPress itself.

First, they started with shared hosting, now Dreamhost offers VPS hosting, Dedicated WordPress hosting and cloud hosting, however, their shared hosting don’t loosen up its value.

It offers everything a beginner to intermediate level blogger needs, from Free SSL to Free domain.

I’m advising you to buy their hosting on an annual or 2-year package to save maximum of your money.

Siteground offers one of best-managed WordPress hosting combine with free website migration on all of their plans. That’s really a plus sign as it means they are really specialized in WordPress hosting.

Siteground runs their inbuilt cache feature called “supercacher” which adds several layers of security which eventually speeds up your blog. There’s none cheap WordPress hosting offers this technology at the moment.

4. Namecheap

Whenever we recall the name “Namecheap” we come to remember it as a domain registrar and email hosting there’s no doubt Namecheap is one of the biggest & my favorite player when it comes to domain registrar.

Namecheapwordpress hosting comes with five different types of hosting follows as Shared, WordPress, Reseller, VPS & dedicated hosting.

But do you know Namecheap also provides sub-par quality hosting even with their shared hosting plans.

Namecheap shared hosting comes with:

  • Free website migration
  • 99.99% uptime
  • Industry standard security
  • Easy to use Cpanel along with hassle-free WordPress installation
  • Unlimited bandwidth and much more

Namecheap shared hosting available in 4 segments:

  1. Value: c$ 12.32/Yr
  2. (Most popular)Professional: c$ 24.78/Yr
  3. Ultimate: c$ 37.25/Yr
  4. Business SSD: c$ 34.78/mo

Note: All of these plan prices are yearly instead of monthly except Business SSD plan. So if you do the math you’re hosting your site with less than a domain price, heck it is cheaper than a good chocolate bar.

5. Bluehost – shared hosting

Remember earlier I mentioned about EIG(Endurance International Group) up in the inmotion hosting section? Well, bluehost is one its child hosting company. There are lots of posts on how EIG owned hosting companies sux and to some extent that’s true.

However, you can’t say same thing about Bluehost.

Luckily I got a free Bluehost shared hosting plan a few months back for a year during a giveaway sponsored by shoutmeloud& tried for few months before giving it away. I must say Bluehost is really good compared to other EIG owned hosts.

However, it has its own pros & cons. Bluehost hosting is fully optimized for WordPress platform and is also recommend by WordPress itself (see pic at the top).

After using it for a solid 1 month I came to two major downsides of Bluehost’s shared hosting.

1. It can’t handle a big amount of steady traffic compare to others on the list, neither it can handle traffic spikes.
2. When I tried Bluehost I was also a complete noob so I always needed technical supports here & there, however when it comes to customer support Bluehost provides really average quality compared to others on our list who provides support within few minutes to hours.

Apart from those two it provides pretty good set of features I.e

  • 1 click WordPress install
  • Free SSL
  • Unlimited hosting resources which includes bandwidth, website space, and sites
  • Super user-friendly control panel (it’s really that easy)
  • Create & manage unlimited emails
  • Auto backups are done daily/weekly/monthly, upon on your choice

Bluehost comes with 3 shared hosting packages

1. Basic: $ 3.49/mo
2. Plus: $ 5.95/mo
3. Prime: $ 5.95/mo (for a limited time)

These are really dam cheap WordPress hosting plans if you compare with others.

My recommendation is if you can afford “Prime” package which is not that expensive at all then you should definitely go for it as it offers everything you need which also comes with a dedicated IP.

Also, consider buying any plan for 3 years term to get most out of the promotional price.

Get started with Bluehost for as low as $2.95

6. Cloudways – WordPress Hosting

I saved the best for the last, that’s right it is the best hosting you get your hands on under a price tag of 10$.

Since Cloudways is a cloud-based host let me give you some of the benefits of using cloud hosting.

  • Since it is cloud based you’ll pay for only what you use in most of the cases
  • Very less down times since your site uses resources from a set of servers which are established all over the globe
  • Unlike regular shared hostings with cloud hosting no one shares server space with you hence you have an advantage in terms of bandwidth
  • Speed and much more

Read: How Setup your website using Cloudways & Namecheap

Cloudways is a managed cloud hosting company which comes with different cloud infrastructures ie. DigitalOcean, Vultr, Amazon web services, Google cloud platform and kyup to choose from.

Unlike other WordPress cloud hosting providers cloudways gives more flexibility to its customers in terms of hosting and control.

They have a whole bunch of features and services to make your hosting ease.

• Free regular 1 click backup
• Supports all latest technologies that a WordPress website needs for a good performance
• Server scalability tool with a “pay as you go” method
• Multiple data centers for robust performance
• 2 click SSL (sorry for one click extra)
• Staging area for testing purpose without breaking anything
• Enhanced security features like 2-factor authentication, platform level firewalls, real-time monitoring

As per pricing cloudways price structure completely depends on which infrastructure you’ve used to host your site. Here are the Cloudways infrastructures with their minimum costs to start with

DigitalOcean: $7/mo
Vultr: $11/mo
Amazon Web services: $88.04/mo
Google cloud platform: $70/mo
Kyup: $75.23/mo

If you are a blogger or a normal guy who wants his website to run on a smooth & secure platform then DigitalOcean or Vultr will do the work.

In addition i personally use and suggest you to go for DigitalOcean since they have a well-established data centers from which you’ve choices to go for whichever server nearest to your targeted visitors.

I personally love Cloudwaysalot for lots of their things which I might cover in a detailed review in near future, just keep in mind there are reasons why I’ve written “proudly hosted on Cloudways” on the footer of AlphaTed. In my opinion, they are best cheap WordPress hosting service provider you should consider checking out.

Make a test drive with Cloudways for 14 days without giving a penny.

Wrapping it up

Please note that I highly recommend these web hosts from a point of view of beginner to intermediate level bloggers.

Once your blog starts to grow and you gain more & more experience you will eventually become smart enough to choose which hosting upgrade you should go for next to maximize your website’s performance.
